I’m Steve. I’ve been a copywriter and editor since 1998. I’m an award-winning editorial professional with more than 20 years’ experience in print, online and social media, with clients that include start-ups and international corporations. I have led magazines to market-leading status, launched websites for some of Britain’s biggest businesses and set the European content strategy for multinationals. In that time, I’ve won awards, been shortlisted for more and received a BAFTA nomination as part of a team delivering groundbreaking work in interactive content. That was a good day.
Since 2009, I’ve been helping local and national businesses to raise their profile as a freelance copywriter/editor and editorial consultant. Clients include Ikea, FedEx, Hewlett Packard, BBC, Vodafone, Haymarket and Future Publishing. My work includes long and short copy; direct marketing, email blasts and adverts; social media and blogs; infographics and animation scripts. You name it; I’ll string together sentences that sell.
What can I tell you? I love words. When I’m not working on my clients’ behalf, I’m finishing my first novel (again!), preparing a script and publishing an e-book. Since completing my Master’s degree in Creative Writing in 1998, my editorial career has taken me in any number of exciting and unexpected directions and I’ve loved every minute of it. Well, nearly every minute – some of the deadlines were pretty tight!
Today, I love working closely with my clients over a period of time to express their brand values in writing and targeting that message effectively to a given market.
